NOTICES
As you all know Holy Week and Easter are upon us and we have some exciting ways to celebrate this year including our Palm Sunday donkey walk and our Methodist/Anglican Easter celebration, so if you haven’t already done so please pick up a leaflet which gives more details of all of our Holy Week and Easter Services.

ELECTORAL ROLL This is revised annually at this time of year and notices are displayed in all churches.  Being on the Electoral Roll means that you have a vote at the Annual Meeting.  Forms are available from Roger Hickling or Richard Bloor.

ST CUTHBERT'S AGM 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 12th April, at the church: This year we will open with a short act of worship followed by a time of fellowship and refreshment of wine and nibbles.  It is a time for all of us to gather, to chat and to look back at the year that has gone.  I would love to have as many of you with us as possible so that I can share a vision and hope for the year ahead of us.  Hope to see you there!

ST ANDREW’S AGM Thursday 30th April at 7.30 pm in the Burton Overy Village Hall.  At this meeting we shall elect two Churchwardens.  Anyone in Burton Overy is entitled to vote for the Churchwardens.  After this election, those on the electoral roll may vote for the Church Council.  The Church Council is very grateful for all the help they receive from villagers, not least the wonderful support given to the Death Watch Beetle Appeal.

EASTER FLOWERS  We would be grateful for any donations towards the cost of the flowers to decorate St Cuthbert’s Church for Easter.  Could you please give these to Lyn or Roger Flowers or Carol Neal by 5th April.

COME AND SING at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday 28th March at St Andrew’s Church, Burton Overy; a rehearsal for singing at the Palm Sunday Service.  As the title suggests, a chance to enjoy singing together, when we shall learn a special hymn for Palm Sunday – adults and children welcome.

FARM VISITS TO BURTON OVERY On Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th March, inner city school children will be coming on their annual visit to the Langton Farm, where they will be able to feed the lambs, collect eggs and learn about life on a farm.  As in previous years, our harvest collection is paying for the transport.

LADIES NIGHT OUT SOCIAL has been arranged for the evening of Wednesday 15th April.  Further details nearer the time.  There is a good interest already, but always room for more.  Contact Carole Henson hensonc@talk21.com or 0116 2403368

VIDEO COLLAGE by Garry Bedford  As we approach Holy Week Garry would like to take the opportunity to present his video collage entitled ‘The Way of Sorrow’.  Using found images and his own photography he has presented his own interpretation of Christ’s last journey with the cross to his crucifixion, along the Via Dolorosa (or The Way of Sorrow) in Jerusalem.  This is what he says  “As a Christian I believe that Easter captures all of the human condition in a series of powerful episodes, presenting, as it does pain and compassion; hope and despair; courage and fear; revenge and mercy; love and hate, with God’s love being the ultimate message.”  The video can be viewed on youtube at:-https://www.youtube.com%2Fchannel%2FUCmLbrsBzE5qxsuBTESjDPdQ or go to youtube search The Way of Sorrow – Garry Bedford
