At Communion Services

If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

CHRISTIAN AID QUIZ NIGHT – Saturday 10th October
Linda and John Warner will be running this event at their house (103 Coverside Road) again this year.  Come as a team of 4 or 5 or just on your own, there will be plenty of people to team up with – arrive at about 7.00 for a 7.30 start.  The questions will be set by Quizmaster John, there will be a hot supper (choice of different curries or lasagne) and a raffle, making this a great night out for only £11 per head.   Bring your own drinks but remember, we will charge you to drink them!  (For those who haven’t been before, this is like a corkage charge).   Please let Linda or John know if you’d like to come and donations of raffle prizes would also be welcome.   We look forward to seeing you.   Linda and John Warner  2593701

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING A big thank you to all who supported our Macmillan coffee morning!  We were able to raise £270.  All for a good cause.

THE LEICESTER WELCOME GROUP continue to help Asylum Seekers who have arrived in Leicester.  Please keep donating toiletries, non-perishable foodstuffs etc.  There are people in need from at least 40 different countries.  See the newsletter on the table for more information and ways to help.
GREETINGS CARDS  Please do have a look at the cards in church which are for sale.  There are several new ones.  Mother’s Union cards are priced at cost and that money goes towards funding Mother’s Union projects around the world. There are other cards in a separate box which are either handmade or from redundant stock for which we would appreciate a voluntary donation for church funds.

LIFTS TO SERVICES – If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.
