At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine. Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

ADVENT CAROL SERVICE 26th Nov 6:30 pm St Cuthbert's. We do hope you can join us for this special service. It is always a special evening starting off our advent season. We are having the service a week early due to the Christmas Tree Festival in Burton Overy so please note the fact that it is a week early.

CAROL SINGING: We have been asked by the YEWS to put together a group to come and sing Christmas carols at the restaurant. One evening, Sunday December 10th at 7:00 pm and the second one is Saturday 16th December at 3:00 pm. We are asked to sing well known traditional carols and will be able to raise money for charity. So we need people who can sing to help us take up this wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ in our community. If you are interested please contact Kim as soon as it can.

PLEASE PRAY FOR Steve Bailey and Liz Wilson as they will be licensed on Tues 28th Nov at St Peter's. Steve will become the Team Rector Designate and Liz Team Vicar Designate, which will be their titles until we become a team with Oadby. Once we are a team all of our titles will change as Liz and Kim will be team vicars and Steve the team rector. So keep this transition for all of the five churches in your prayers.

CHRISTMAS CARDS: Our annual Christmas cards will be delivered in the next week or two. If you normally deliver cards it would be great if you would be willing to help. If you have not helped before it would be great to have help especially on the new estates. Also this year we will have a magazine to hand out will with the Christmas cards that will share the love of Christ with others in the village. So please do help if you can.

CHILDREN’S WORK PARENTS: We have got together to think through the best way to do our new children's work. From this Sunday we will have the children in at the beginning of the 9:15 am service where we will have a song and on communion Sunday's a children's talk. The children who are 3 and older will than go out to Sunday School on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays and staying with us on the 1st and 4th for our all age communion. We will be updating our creche area to help the little ones who will be staying in with us. If you have any questions or concerns please talk to Kim or Linda.

LADIES NIGHT OUT The December Ladies Night Out has been booked and names already given to Mo – since we had to book numbers for this busy time. The January LNO will be on Wednesday 17th at 7.30pm, Oadby Grange Farm pub. February date is 21st. Any enquiries or lift requests please e-mail or ring Mo, thank-you.

THE CECILIAN SINGERS: One of Leicestershire’s leading mixed voice chamber choirs will be paying their first visit to sing in St Cuthbert’s Church on Friday 8th December at 7.30 pm. Wine or soft drinks and mince pies will be served during the interval. Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £5 for children and are available from Moira.

QUIET PRAYER AND MEDITATION: The next meeting is on December 13th at 3.30pm at 20, Kingfisher Close. It is an opportunity for some special moments of peace in a busy world. Everyone is welcome to join us. We would love to see you,

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS: If you would like to make a donation towards the cost of the Christmas flowers at St Cuthbert’s Church would you please hand it to Phyllis Hallam, Carol Neal or Lyn Flowers.

LIFTS TO SERVICES: If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Rev’d Kim for Great Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy to arrange one for you.

WHY NOT put an extra can or tin in your shopping basket to bring to church services. St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity. No biscuits, cereals or any other packet foods please as the mice are quite partial to these.

Please pray for:
·         Mollie Alexander, Margaret Bannister, Sue Burnham, Christine Higgins, Bernard Higgins, Katherine, Mike and family, Eileen Spencer, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, and all who are ill
·         Charlotte Richards and Zoe Hunt who will be baptised at St Cuthbert’s Church
·         Clint Seymour and Leah-Ann Loizzo who will be married on 25th November at St Cuthbert’s Church
