If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.   Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES


At the Evensong Service at Burton Overy on the 8th July, there will be a visiting choir of ex-Cathedral choristers.  Please do come to hear their beautiful singing at this lovely traditional C of E service.
 
Sparklers Big Toddle - At the last Sparklers session on the 9th July, they will be doing a sponsored toddle down to the recreation ground in aid of Dr. Barnardo's.  Do sponsor them if you can.

Sunday Breakfast is on the 8th July.  Do join us for breakfast at St Cuthbert's Church after the 8.30 a.m. service.  We do hope people from both the 8.30 and 10.30 services will join us!

St Andrew's Church, Burton Overy - Churchyard Clean-up - We are arranging for our annual churchyard clean-up on Saturday, 28th July from 9.15a.m. until 12.30 p.m.  All who can lend a hand would be more than welcome.  It would be helpful if you could bring with you a strimmer, strong gloves, shears, spade, rake, hoe, wheelbarrow.  However, if you can't supply any of these, don't worry - just bring yourself along.

We would like to thank Stoneygate School for their generous cheque of £150. for the Children's Society.  They wished to donate a sum of money to a charity we support as a way of thanking us for taking assemblies.

The next Time Out will be on Friday, 6th July at St Cuthbert's Church from 4 until 6 p.m.  Please bring your own food and drink (juice/wine/beer, etc).  Games and toys for the children will be organised so come and enjoy yourselves.  There will be a short time of prayer for your concerns.

LEP discussions – On 15th July and 19th August we will be sharing both 10.30am and 6.30pm services with Glen Methodist church.  On 16th September we have arranged an open meeting to discuss whether or not to continue our exploration of joining the two churches together –Methodist and Anglican officials from the District and Diocese will be present to answer people’s questions.  The meeting will take place after the 10.30 service and will be followed by a bring-and-share lunch.

A flower-arranging demonstration by Rosemary Mason will be held on Thursday evening, September 6th, in aid of St Cuthbert's Church funds.  Rosie holds a warrant for making the posies carried by the Queen and her attendants at the Maundy Services.  Please put this date in your diary.

BBQ Lunch - Mary is hoping to organise a bring and share BBQ lunch one Sunday in July or August, once the date for a possible Ignition trip to New Wine Camp has been decided.  Watch out for the date!!

From Time to Time takes place at St Peter's Church, Oadby tonight (1st July) at 6 p.m. It is an evening of music and readings celebrating the Book of Common Prayer's 350th anniversary.  Included is Handel's 'Come unto him', Wesley's 'Lead me Lord', John Ireland's 'It is a thing most wonderful', Charles Villiers Stanford's 'Te Deum' and Geoffrey Burgon's 'Nunc Dimittis'.  Free entry with retiring collection.

Music on the Launde on Saturday, 7th July :  Come and enjoy a fabulous evening of Big Band and Soulful Jazz music featuring the Leicester Big Band and Funk Soul Brother plus support.  Gates open 4.30 p.m.  Music starts at

Blaby All Saints' Church Summer Fair takes place on Saturday, 7th July from 10 .a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Parish Centre, Wigston Road, Blaby (opposite the Bakers' Arms).  Various stalls including plants, cakes, bottle stall, mystery parcels, mystery tubes, books, 'All Saint's Boutique', find the key game, raffle, etc.  Refreshments will be served.

Lifts to Services – If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.
