At Communion Services

If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

COME TO A 'GLAMOROUS NIGHT' OF IVOR NOVELLO MUSIC on Friday 18th March at 7.30pm at Leicester Grammar School, performed by the Grammar School Choral Society and the School First Orchestra.  Tickets £8 (Concessions £5) on the door or email music@leicestergrammar.org.uk  You will hear many of the wonderful Ivor Novello songs 'Keep the home fires burning' 'We'll gather lilacs'.............

PLEASE SUPPORT A COFFEE MORNING ON SATURDAY 19TH MARCH 10-12 at the Methodist Church Hall in Great Glen.  Noah comes to Sparklers (our Mums and Toddlers group) and his father is running in the London Marathon and is raising funds for the Air Ambulance Service.

PALM SUNDAY DONKEY WALK!  Please meet at the church at 9:00 am and we will walk to Burton Overy at 9:15 am to arrive for approximately 9:45 for breakfast and crafts for the children.  This will be followed by a service at St Andrew's and donkey rides (weather permitting) after church. The event is free but donations towards the breakfast costs would be appreciated.

LAST SUPPER COMPETITON is taking place at St Cuthbert's Primary.  I have been teaching year 6 RE for 4 weeks and have set a competition for the year 6 children to create the Last Supper in their own way (painting,music, clay, poem, baking etc).  The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the St Cuthbert's Cup will be displayed at church throughout Easter, so do watch out for the creativeness of the children! -Kim

 

TOUR OF ST MARY DE CASTRO AND LEICESTER CATHEDRAL, including lunch and entry to the Richard III Visitor Centre, on Wednesday 13th April 11.00-4.30 - Cost £20.  Booking by 18th March.  Forms at back of church.

AGM FOR ST CUTHBERT'S 24th APRIL  We will be having a Songs of Praise service, followed by the AGM and PCC meeting and to finish off the evening we will be having cheese and crackers, and a chat about our vision for the future, so please mark the date! 

CHURCH FETE Save the date - June 11th.  We will be celebrating the Queen's birthday in style for the whole village to join in.  If you have any ideas for stalls or different activities please see Roger or Kim.  If you can help in any way with the running of the stalls etc on the day please let Roger or Kim know.  More details will follow soon.

WHY NOT PUT AN EXTRA CAN OR PACKET in your shopping basket to bring to church services.  St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity.  Suggestions: rice, pasta (mainly spaghetti), oil, sugar, tea, coffee, tinned goods (tomatoes, fruit, meat, fish, baked beans and sweet corn), shampoo, shower-gel, toothpaste, deodorants, shaving cream/gel.
