NEWS IN THE PEWS

Creator God,

We want to say a Huge Thank You to Anne Bloor as she has faithful served in our Sparkler Mother and Toddler group for 10 years. She is now stepping down from this role. We want to thank her for all she has given to the families in our village and to say how grateful we are for all she has done.
The Magazine - Call for Copy! The deadline for copy for next issue of the Church magazine is drawing ever closer. So could I remind all regular contributors and anyone else who would like to share their news, stories, thoughts and ponderings with the community to send your copy to: garry.bedford@mail.com Thank you.
Morning Service (Matins) Grateful thank to Kim who has responded by a call from the older generation to hold a series of Matins on the 4th Sunday in the month at 10.45am, at St. Andrew’s, Burton Overy. The first service will take place on Sunday July 22. We hope that those of us who find difficulty in making the early morning communion service will respond positively to this traditional Morning Prayer service, the first at which theRev. David Clark, the retired vicar of Oadby will preach. A further Matins Service will be held on Sunday, August 26. Congratulations!
The governing body are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Jenny Hawkins as the Head Teacher of St Cuthbert's Primary School. Jenny comes with excellent skills and enthusiasm and we are looking forward to having her with us. She will take up the position as of January 2019 and Miss Joanna Scott our deputy head will be acting head for the first term until Jenny joins us. Please pray for Jenny as she prepares to join us and for the staff and students as they head into the summer break. Also for Mrs Burbidge as she goes into retirement. We wish her all the best for her future.
St Cuthbert's PCC is looking for a person who would be willing to take on the role of treasurer for our PCC. Our current treasurer is no longer able to continue due to work commitments. We have a gift aid officer, a person who does all the deposits and someone who writes the cheques. We are simply looking for someone who is willing to balance the books and keep our accounts up to date. You do not need to be an accountant, as we have an auditor, we simply need someone who is good with accounts. If you feel you can help us in this please contact Rev Kim Ford at 0116 259 2238 or kimberleykford@aim.com.
