Sunday 4th
August – Transfiguration of Our Lord
Collect
for Today
Generous
God,
you
give us gifts and make them grow:
though
our faith is small as mustard seed, make it grow to your glory and the
flourishing of your kingdom;
through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Post
Communion Prayer
Lord
God, whose Son is the true vine and the source of life,
ever
giving himself that the world may live:
may
we so receive within ourselves
the
power of his death and passion
that,
in his saving cup,
we
may share his glory and be made perfect in his love;
for
he is alive and reigns, now and for ever.

Sunday School on the 11th August due to Linda being away
we are unable to hold Sunday School on the 11th August for the 9:15
am service. We will have the children in with us and make it an all age
service.
A personal thank you from Kim: Dear all, I want to
thank you for your prayers considering my operation. I have now received a date
for the 22nd of August. Please continue to pray that it is not
cancelled! I will be away for 5 weeks following the operation. We will have a 3rd
Year Curate, Gareth Hutchinson, who will be coming to cover my absence. Please
make him feel welcome as he joins us. Sarah of course is with us and will work
with Gareth during this time. Thank you again for your prayers and support.
Message from Gareth Hutchinson:
I’m Gareth and am married to Laura, we have two boys
Noah (aged 9) and Eli (aged 5). Although I’m originally form Northern
Ireland I’ve spent most of my life in England primarily in Swindon, which is
where Laura and I started our married life together, before moving to Bristol
for Bible college. We’ve been in curacy at Church of the Martyrs in
Leicester for just over 2 years. Laura works part time as a teacher and
then runs a charity named Leicester Baby Basics which supplies good quality
second-hand baby kit to families who otherwise would not be able to afford the
essentials. For fun times together we like canoeing, Lego and ice-cream,
although probably not all at the same time. And our desire is to see more
of who God is and what He’s doing both in our lives and in the lives of those we
encounter.
