If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine. Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES
Stoneygate School Choir are giving a concert at St Cuthbert’s on Wednesday, 17th March. The concert will last about an hour, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are £5. on the door and tea, coffee and wine will be served after the concert for a small donation. All proceeds to the church.

We warmly welcome Revd Jordan Ling, Curate at St Christopher’s Church, Samworth Enterprise Academy, Leicester, who will be spending two weeks in our benefice as part of her training. Her experience to date has been city ministry and she wishes to explore the rural ministry. She will be with us from Sunday, 7th March to Sunday, 21st March, and she will be delighted to meet you and hear your views about church life in our villages.

St Cuthbert’s Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Sunday, 11th April 2010, in the evening after a short Songs of Praise. If you are interested in being a churchwarden or member of the PCC (Parochial Church Council) for the next year, nomination papers are available at the back of the church and the elections will take place at the Annual Meeting. Please leave completed nomination papers in the envelope provided.

Fund Raising Day for Haiti on Sunday, 7th March –This event is taking place today in Burton Overy Village Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please come along and support this very worthwhile cause. Entry is £2. for adults and children free. Refreshments available. There will be stalls for cakes, good bric-a-brac, books and plants.

A Ceilidh is being organised to raise money for Great Glen Community Wild Space. It will be on Friday, 12th March at 7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall with full refreshments, a raffle and dancing to Greenshoots Ceilidh Orchestra. Tickets are £5. or £3. for concessions if bought in advance from St Cuthbert’s School, the Post Office or from Steering Group members. They will be £6./£4. on the door.

The Lent Course this year runs each Thursday from 25th February to 25th March from 7.30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Methodist Church.

The Cathedral Lent Lectures on Wednesday Evenings by Bishop Tim take place at Leicester Cathedral from 7 p.m. until 8.30 p.m. Each 40 minute lecture will be followed by questions and refreshments.

Mothering Sunday lunches will be served on Sunday, 14th March, at Launde Abbey, after which guests are free to relax in the house or wander in the beautiful spring gardens before a delicious afternoon tea with cake. The Abbey will also be hosting a family Easter Sunday lunch and tea (including Children’s Easter Egg Hunt) on Sunday, 4th April. Pre-booking is essential for both events. Faith Leaders Forum presents a Question Time event at Leicester Cathedral on Sunday, 14th March at 5.30 p.m. Current confirmed panellists are Peter Soulsby (Labour, Leicester South), Suffar Haq (Liberal Democrat, Harborough) and Geoff Forse (Green Party, Leicester West).

Choral Concert at St Philip’s Church, Evington Road, on Saturday, 13th March at 7.30 p.m. The Choir of St Edmund College, Oxford will give a concert of choral music including works by Parry, Bach, Whiteacre and Stainer, with solo performances.
