At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine. Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES
Second Ireland Family Wedding! – All our church friends are invited to come to the wedding ceremony and as a token of our thanks for everyone’s contributions to Frances and Chris’ wedding celebrations, Mary and the family invite you to partake of a little refreshment in the church after the service
.
New Evening Service – It’s a relaxed service with songs, bible readings, discussion over a cup of coffee/tea, prayer and meditation starting at 8 p.m.
but don’t worry if you’re late or need to leave early! The next service is on Monday, 9th August, in the Methodist Church Hall.

Alpha Course – We will be running an Alpha Course this autumn in conjunction with Glen Methodist Church on Monday evenings. There will be a taster session on Monday, 13th September, and the course will start the following Monday and end on Monday, 29th November (no session at half-term). To run this course, we need people who would like to do the course – so please think about people you know who might be interested and maybe come with them yourself to the taster session. We will also need a team of people to prepare and cook the meals and a team to serve the meals and wash up afterwards – the more volunteers we have the less work there is for everyone to do, hopefully not everyone will be needed every week. If you can help, please contact Chris Otway.

Church Camp Service – Everyone is welcome to join us at camp at 2 p.m. for a service during which the children show us what they’ve been doing and learning all weekend – it’s not just for parents!

Knitting wool required – We would be grateful for donations of any THIN wool suitable for French Knitting for use at camp. Please give your wool to Carole Henson or Rebecca Broughton.
Last call for names of children (8 – 11 years) who would like to come to the Church Camp (13th – 15th August) at Carlton Curlieu Manor! Application forms and £25. per child to Nicola Langton (259 2332).

Toys still needed – St Cuthbert’s & St Andrew’s churches are looking for toys ideally with a Biblical theme in nice condition (no rattles or other noises!) to use for children at the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services. Julie Kirk has joined Tessa & Carole in this ministry and we would appreciate any suitable donations. Thank you.

St Cuthbert’s Church still needs volunteers to act as sidespeople at the [Soft Break]10.30 a.m. and Evensong services, for opening up the church for Mission Partnership Evensongs and to do after-service tea and coffee. If you could help, please contact our churchwarden, Chris Otway on 259 2013.
