Back to Church Sunday - 26th September. It is a fact that sometimes people simply get out of the habit of going to church. This year, we’re taking part in this nationally recognised event designed to encourage anyone who has got out of the routine of attending church to come back. Personal invitations are at the back of church for you to give to anyone you feel might be interested.

As in previous years, the collection will be given to provide the transport to bring inner city schoolchildren out to Burton Overy for a day on a farm. The Harvest Sunday Lunch will be in the Village Hall, 1 p.m. for 1.30 p.m. – a hot two-course meal. Adults £7. Children under 12 £3.50. To book a place, please phone Rebecca Broughton on 259 0055.

Kibworth Area on TV – A new six-session series presented by Michael Wood starts on Wednesday, 22nd September, at 9 p.m. It’s called “Story of England” and, if you watch it closely, you might perhaps catch a glimpse of your vicar (who spent two hours filming with Michael Wood in Priory Farm (opposite Fratelli Restaurant). Should be a fascinating series for Leicestershire people! It will be repeated on BBC HD later on.
From Attending to Belonging to Contributing – Bob Jackson (author of ‘Hope for the Church’) is coming to talk to us about how we can help people become a real part of our church on Wednesday, 13th October. The morning session is 9.30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at St Paul’s Church in Oadby and is repeated in a shorter form from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, Loughborough. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from someone with a national reputation for analysing what helps churches to grow! Please can a few people from each of our churches attend one of these sessions. To book a place, email barry.hill@leccofe.org or phone 0116 248 7435.
Children during the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services are invited to move into the north aisle (whether at Glen or Burton) after the Gloria to engage with the day’s bible story in ways that they will appreciate. They rejoin their parents in the pews at The Peace.
Lifts to Services – If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.

· For all those facing unexpected tax bills.
· For successful peace talks in the Middle East.
· For those picking up the pieces and trying to rebuild after the recent devastating floods.
