NOTICES

Women’s Aid – Please can you all make a special effort to include an extra item in your shopping basket to donate to Women’s Aid. We have supported this charity for a number of years at Christmas time and they are always very grateful. They need donations such as non-perishable food, tins and packets, biscuits, tea and coffee, soft drinks, jams, toiletries, etc. Please place donations in the box in church by Sunday, 19th December.

Easy Fundraising for St Cuthbert’s Church : How it works – Easy Fundraising are providing a FREE service where you can shop with your favourite online stores and, at no extra cost, raise funds for any charity, good cause or group you choose to support. You still shop directly with each retailer as you would normally but simply by using the links from the easy fundraising site first, each purchase you make will generate a cashback donation to the cause you wish to support. We have recently registered St Cuthbert’s as a worthy cause. For example, spend £25. with WH Smith and 3.5% will be donated. You will have raised 88 pence at no extra cost to your purchase. Make any purchase from Amazon and 2.5% will be donated. \Insure your car with Direct Line and raise £35. or purchase a mobile phone from O2 and earn £17.50 and so on. You can shop with 2000+ brand name retailers (Amazon, Argos, eBay, Debenhams, etc) and to raise funds you just use the links from the easy fundraising site first – it’s that simple! If you already shop online, why not help good causes at no extra cost from the purchases you would make anyway. To start shopping and donate to St Cuthbert’s, log on using the following link : http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stcgreatglen or click on the link on St Cuthbert’s web page.

Christmas Cards for Church friends – Why not put a card to all your church friends on the church notice board and give the money saved to charity (or the church)? A good idea from Jennie Wearne.

Humour is a gift: A “Daffy-nition” (change one letter and meaning) : Intaxication – Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realise it was your money to start with.

Please pray:-
· For couples as they prepare for their wedding.
· For all who are ill or suffering.
· For families and friends as they grieve for loved ones.
· For schools and teachers in the hectic run-up to Christmas.
· For our armed forces and their families, especially those who will not be together this Christmas.
· For wisdom and generosity of spirit as it is decided on where to make cuts in public spending.
