 At Communion Services

If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

CALL TO PRAYER The Archbishops have made a call to prayer and I would like us as a benefice to respond.  If you have any ideas or thoughts of what we can do to rise to the challenge please let me know.  The Archbishops have written to every serving parish priest in the Church of England expressing their longing “to see a great wave of prayer across our land, throughout the Church of England and many other Churches” from 8th-15th May.  The week of prayer will culminate in ‘Beacon events’ around the country over Pentecost weekend, where people will pray for the renewal of the Holy Spirit and the confidence to share their faith.  You can visit the website thykingdom.co.uk to see what it is all about.  Kim

LEICESTER CATHEDRAL has extended an invitation to the parishes of our two deaneries to visit on SUNDAY, 5TH JUNE.  The programme is scheduled to commence at 2pm with groups touring the cathedral.  This will be followed by Choral Evensong at 3pm.  During refreshments there will be a talk led by the Dean, the Very Reverend David Monteith, with further tours of the cathedral offered at 4.15pm before departure at 5pm.  This will be an opportunity to learn about the life of the cathedral and to see what has been achieved following the re- interment of Richard III.  Please put your name on the form at the back of the Church if you are interested.

AGM FOR ST CUTHBERT'S 24th APRIL  We will be having a Songs of Praise service, followed by the AGM and PCC meeting and to finish off the evening we will be having cheese and crackers, and a chat about our vision for the future, so please mark the date!
