At Communion Services
If you are a
communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive
the bread and wine. Otherwise you are
welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will
signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the
Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a
sidesman.
KIM’S

NOTICES
Christianity
Explored will
begin on Thursday 22nd February, 7:30 pm. We will be meeting
at the Yews to begin with a meal. We will then have a short
teaching followed by a discussion. There is a workbook to go with the
sessions which is £3 per book, which will be available this Sunday. We will have our first session at the Yews and then see if it
works, if not we can discuss it on the day and make plans for future evenings.
Lent Group starts the 21st February at
2:00 pm in the Methodist Hall. We will start with coffee
and biscuits and then have a discussion time together. The book this year is
"A Discipling Presence" and will be looking at discipleship in a
rural context.
Ladies Night Out will be at the Oadby Grange Farm Pub
on Wednesday 21st February at 7.30pm and March 28th.
Any ladies
interested or needing to book for one or both evenings, please contact Mo
John mojohnal@gmail.com or
Tel. 0116 2593504. Thank-you Carole & Mo

Bishop’s Lent Appeal
2018 Bishop Martyn is raising funds to support the rebuilding
of the homes and lives of thousands of adults and children hit by the
hurricanes, Irma and Martha, last year on the islands of Anguilla, Barbuda and
Dominica. You will find details of how
to make a donation on the poster on the board in the porch.
Quiet Prayer and Meditation: 3.30pm on March 7th
at
20, Kingfisher Close. It is
an opportunity for some special moments of peace in a busy
world. Everyone is welcome to
join us. We would love to see you.
Funeral
for Joan Amos, 19th Feb 10:30 am at St Cuthbert's for those of
you who have not heard Joan sadly passed away last week and will be sorely
missed. Please keep her daughter Christine and son David in your prayers.
School Visit 13th March from 9:30 am to
11:00 am. Woodgrange Primary School, Oadby
will be visiting St Cuthbert’s Church for the first time and will be bringing
the foundation stage children. We would like 8 or more volunteers to help us on
the day as the children are much younger than normally visit. We will still be showing them different parts
of the church in groups, so if you can help please do let me know. Thank you,
Kim
