News in the pews

Sunday 28th July – Sixth Sunday After Trinity

Collect for Today
Creator God,
you made us all in your image:
may we discern you in all that we see,
and serve you in all that we do;
through Jesus Christ our Lord

Post Communion Prayer
God of our pilgrimage,
you have led us to the living water:
refresh and sustain us
as we go forward on our journey,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Mo, Helen Dartnell and myself are offering to book another Carol Service and Meal at Launde Abbey for £19 per person.  We are offering 20 places on a first come, first served basis. Full payment either by cheque, or correct cash to Carole Henson. There needs to be a cut-off date (25th Aug), so as to book in with Launde and secure our places.  The meal is at 1pm and travel arrangements will be ongoing, but we are sure all those who want to go, will be able to!
Remember for July and August there will not be any Ladies Night Out.  We will resume on Wednesday 18th September at the new time of 7pm and we will meet at The Grange Farm Pub, Oadby.

This group will be taking a summer break. We shall meet again on September 25th at the NEW TIME of 3pm.  Many thanks, Christine.

A personal thank you from Kim: Dear all, I want to thank you for your prayers considering my operation. I have now received a date for the 22nd of August. Please continue to pray that it is not cancelled! I will be away for 5 weeks following the operation. We will have a 3rd Year Curate, Gareth Hutchinson, who will be coming to cover my absence. Please make him feel welcome as he joins us. Sarah of course is with us and will work with Gareth during this time. Thank you again for your prayers and support.

Message from Gareth Hutchinson:
I’m Gareth and am married to Laura, we have two boys Noah (aged 9) and Eli (aged 5).  Although I’m originally form Northern Ireland I’ve spent most of my life in England primarily in Swindon, which is where Laura and I started our married life together, before moving to Bristol for Bible college.  We’ve been in curacy at Church of the Martyrs in Leicester for just over 2 years.  Laura works part time as a teacher and then runs a charity named Leicester Baby Basics which supplies good quality second-hand baby kit to families who otherwise would not be able to afford the essentials.  For fun times together we like canoeing, Lego and ice-cream, although probably not all at the same time.  And our desire is to see more of who God is and what He’s doing both in our lives and in the lives of those we encounter
