Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

A very big “thank you” from Mary to Roger, Angela, Carole, the churchwardens and everyone who worked so hard to keep all our church activities going so well during her absence, and also to Revd Paul Richards and members of the Methodist Church who helped with Sparklers and many other aspects of church life too.
Choral Evensong – Tonight is the second of our big Mission Partnership choral evensong services at Foxton church – please do support this and enjoy a wonderful service with a big choir and excellent musical direction. Please invite anyone you know who would appreciate this service to join us.
St Cuthbert’s Church Fete – We shall be holding a fete in and around the church on Saturday, 4th June. We are asking for contributions for tombola, bottle stall, unwanted gifts, jigsaws and children’s toys (complete and in good condition please). There will be a box in church from 1st May. Offers of help to man a stall and to help with setting up and dismantling on the day would be greatly appreciated. Also books in good condition are wanted for a stall at the Church Fete on 4th June. Great Glen Charity – There is money to help people buy vital new equipment such as a washing machine if they’re stuck for funds so if ever you hear a comment like “I don’t know how I’m going to manage without …” please get in touch with the Vicar or one of the other trustees.
Classical Evening at Launde Abbey takes place on Friday, 27th May 2011, at 7.30 p.m. for 8 p.m. and features classical music including the internationally acclaimed Tippett Quartet. Grand Opening of St Martins House, Peacock Lane, Leicester, LE1 5PZ is on Friday, 10th June. All free. At 2.30 p.m. there will be a service of worship and thanksgiving. Diocesan Parish Share Sub-Committee – This group is responsible for recommending the level of parish contributions each year and for monitoring progress as the year proceeds. It usually meets three times each year, twice for two hours mid-week (spring and autumn) and for a full day in the early summer. We are currently seeking 1 parish clergy, 1 parish or deanery treasurer and 1 other lay person to join the group in time for the next meeting in June. Members serve for an initial term of three years. Expressions of interest, including two or three sentences describing relevant interests or experience and the contact details of a referee should be sent to the Diocesan Secretary, Jonathan Kerry, at Jonathon.kerry@lecofe.org or post to St Martins House, 7 Peacock Lane, Leicester, LE1 5PZ, to arrive no later than 31st May 2011.
Coffee Morning at Arnesby on Saturday, 21st May, from 10 a.m. until 12.30 p.m. hosted by Derek Lewin at The Firs, Mill Hill, Arnesby, with raffle and bring and buy stall in aid of the local branch of the Prayer Book Society. All welcome.
Hearing Loop – St Andrew’s Church at Burton Overy now has a hearing loop as part of the loudspeaker system. If you wear a hearing aid, adjust the switch to the T position and you will hear the service clearly.
Children during the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services are invited to move into the north aisle (whether at Glen or Burton) after the Gloria to engage with the day’s bible story in ways that they will appreciate. They rejoin their parents in the pews at The Peace.
Lifts to Services – If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.
