At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

LENT COURSE WITH A TWIST   We are doing something different for Lent this year.  We will be using the movie 'Chocolat' as the base of our discussions and the course will begin on the 1st March at 12:30 pm.   We will meet at the Methodist Church and have a Bring and Share lunch followed by the movie.   Even if you decide not to do the whole course it will be a good opportunity for a social gathering.  The course will then continue for the next five Wednesdays (March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5) at 2:00 pm at the Methodist Church.  We will have a short clip from the film and a discussion. We are trying to do it during the daytime so that people do not have to come out in the evening.  We hope you can join us!  If you would like to join us please sign up at the back of the church.

SUNDAY PRAYER MEETING   Thank you to all who came and were a part of our prayer meeting on Sunday evening.  The evening was really well received and we had around 50 people from all the different churches coming for fellowship and to pray for the village and the wider world.  When we asked if people would like to do it again there was a definite YES!  So we will plan another evening and let you know once the date is set.  Let us keep praying for the needs of the village and for what God wants to do it this place.

BISHOP MARTYN  will be visiting our Deanery to meet the clergy and get a feel for what is going on in our villages.  We are the last Deanery to host the Bishop and it will be good to welcome him.  This is just a general visit and, as Bishop Martyn is new, will enable him to get to know the clergy and their churches and have a better overview of the parishes he is seeking to serve.  Please pray that his time with us will be blessed and that he will get a good picture of what God is doing in our Deanery.

THE QUEEN, accompanied by Prince Phillip, will be visiting Leicester again for the Maundy Thursday service in the Cathedral.  It will be a real privilege to have her Majesty with us again as she hands out Maundy Money to those who have served the Lord and others faithfully throughout Leicestershire.

QUIET PRAYER AND MEDITATION 3.30 pm on Wednesday, 22nd February at 20 Kingfisher Close, Great Glen.  New members are encouraged and will be made very welcome.  More information from Christine Higgins, Tel. 2592624.

ST CUTHBERT’S FLOWER ROTA CALENDAR is now available at the back of the church.  Would the flower ladies please enter the dates when they can arrange the altar flowers.
LADIES NIGHT OUT.
