At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS LAST WEEK FOR BISHOP MARTYN. I had a good visit with him getting to know him and sharing with him my hopes and concerns. He is now fully aware of the situation in our Benefice and the building of a team with Oadby. Now that he knows the situation better I am hoping we will be able to move forward in the near future towards a solution that will benefit us all. I will keep you informed of all developments as they happen.  Kim

LENT COURSE WITH A TWIST   We are doing something different for Lent this year.  We will be using the movie 'Chocolat' as the base of our discussions and the course will begin on the 1st March at 12:30 pm.   We will meet at the Methodist Church and have a Bring and Share lunch followed by the movie.   Even if you decide not to do the whole course it will be a good opportunity for a social gathering so please do join us for the movie. The course will then continue for the next five Wednesdays (March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5) at 2:00 pm at the Methodist Church.  We will have a short clip from the film and a discussion. We are trying to do it during the daytime so people do not have to come out in the evening.  We hope you can join us!  If you would like to join us please sign up at the back of the church.

PRAYER MEETING 26th February at 7:30 pm. (Please note this will take the place of the 4:00 pm Evensong.)  Many people have asked us to run another prayer service at the church so we are opening the doors once again. There will be tea and coffee at 7:30 pm followed by hymns and prayers.  This is an Ecumenical service and all Christians are invited to come and worship with us.

QUIET PRAYER AND MEDITATION 3.30 pm on Wednesday, 22nd February at 20 Kingfisher Close, Great Glen.  New members are encouraged and will be made very welcome.  This will be the last meeting until 3rd May when the Group will resume again after Easter.  Please watch for further details in NIP.  More information from Christine Higgins, Tel. 2592624.
MEN'S CURRY EVENING, 1st March, 7:30 pm at the Swatlands in Oadby. If you would like to join them please contact Charlie 07534401547 or e-mail him on Charles.ford316@gmail.com. Please contact him before the 25th February so a reservation can be made.

LADIES NIGHT OUT.   The dates for the next three months will be February 22nd, March 15th and April 19th.  The meeting on 22nd February will be at the Oadby Grange Pub at 7.30 and the venue for March will be the Bell at Burton Overy at 7.30. Please come and join us.  To book your place or if you require transport please contact Mo John on 0116 2593504 or mobile 07818003392. My e-mail address is mojohnal@gmail.com.

TEDDIES FOR TANZANIA Kim would like to take some teddies with her on her trip to Tanzania next year.  See an example on the table at the back of the Church. The pattern is very simple if anyone would like to help, and Amy can even supply some wool if needed.
COFFEE MORNING on Saturday 18th March 10am - 12 noon at the Methodist Church Hall. Cakes & preserves will be on sale.  All proceeds in aid of the Building Fund.

TONY LONGMAN sadly passed away last weekend and will be dearly missed.  For those who would like to attend his funeral it will be held at
St Cuthbert’s Church on Tuesday 21st Feb at 1:30 pm.  The wake will take place following the service at the Pug & Greyhound.

Please pray for:
·         Margaret Bannister, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, Mollie Alexander,  and all who are ill
·         the soul of Tony Longman
·         Isla Ryan who will be baptised on 5th March at St Cuthbert’s
·         the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return
