NOTICES

LENT COURSE WITH A TWIST   We are doing something different for Lent this year.  We will be using the movie 'Chocolat' as the base of our discussions and will continue for the next five Wednesdays (March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5) at 2:00 pm at the Methodist Church.  We will have a short clip from the film and a discussion. Hope you can join us.
LADIES NIGHT OUT The next meeting will be on March 15th at The Bell, Burton Overy at the usual time of 7.30. If you haven't been before please come and join us, we are a very friendly crowd and the evening is good fun. To book your place or if you require transport please contact me, Mo John on 0116 2593504 or mobile 07818003392.  My e-mail address is mojohnal@gmail.com.
HELP NEEDED as many of you know we now have two toddler groups, Sparklers on a Monday and Toddler Café on a Wednesday. As Kim and Carol Henson are away on two Wednesday we could use one extra volunteer on 15th and 22nd March. Just to be an extra person to talk and have coffee with the mums and children. Linda Harwood is leading the story and the craft. Also if you would like to help on the coffee rota on Wednesdays we could do with a few more people. See Kim for details.
BIBLE READING NOTES  It is nearly time to order Bible Reading Notes for all those who are interested in reading and understanding a little more of the bible.  Have you thought of taking these handy booklets which give you a daily passage of scipture, along with a brief explanation and a short prayer or thought for the day?  The cost is approx £13 for the year.  Copies of the booklets can be seen in church.  If you have not had them before, now is the time to give them a try - you will not be sorry!  Just give your name to Christine Higgins - 259-2624 or chrisples@btinternet.com -who is kindly co-ordinating the order from the Benefice.

BISHOP MARTYN will be leading an evening discussing Prayer on Thursday 16th March -7.30 at Kibworth Church.

COFFEE MORNING on Saturday 18th March 10am - 12 noon at the Methodist Church Hall. Cakes & preserves will be on sale.  All proceeds in aid of the Building Fund.

ADVANCE NOTICE FOR ST CUTHBERT’S APCM 2nd April, 12:30 pm there will be a bring & share lunch to begin with followed by the AGM/PCC meeting and finishing with an open discussion about the different things that are happening in the church. It would be lovely for as many to come as possible and in our discussion at the end if would be good to hear your thoughts and ideas about how things are progressing. There will be a sign up sheet in the back of the church.
NEXT MEN’S CURRY EVENING will be on the Wednesday 5th April see Charlie Ford for details or call him on 07534401547 email charles.ford316@gmail.com
PLEASE NOTE THE BIBLE READING SHEETS these sheets have been given to us free for a month to see if they are suitable. There is no cost involved so I thought it would be good to see what people think so do let Kim know if you think they are helpful or not.

ISRAEL TRIP please pray for the pilgrimage to Israel on the 13-22 March. There are 30 of us going from the surrounding villages. Please pray for a safe journey, for good health and that God would meet us in a special way as we journey in this special place.

Please pray for:
·         Margaret Bannister, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, Mollie Alexander, Mike and Katherine and all who are ill
·         the soul of Tony Longman
·         Isla Ryan who will be baptised on 5th March at St Cuthbert’s
·         the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return
