At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

We have received the sad news that Wendy Hickling has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with Roger and the family.  If anyone would like to attend the funeral it is on 8th June at 2:30 pm at Great Glen Crematorium.

CHURCH FETE, with a guest appearance from FILBERT FOX, 10th June 10.30 am to 2.30 pm in the Vicarage Garden with ploughman's lunches available in the church from 12 pm to 2 pm.  In order to make this a great day we need your help.  We need volunteers to help us run stalls, this is a priority as we can only run as many stalls as we have people.  We also need bric-a-brac, books, plants, items for the tombola, items for our raffle and nearer the time cakes.  Also if you know anyone who would like to sell their own products we will have stalls available to rent as well.  You can bring any items to church or the vicarage from now on.  If you have any questions please ask Amy, Kim, Roger or Lyn.

QUIET PRAYER AND MEDITATION  on June 7th, 3.30 – 4.30pm at 20 Kingfisher Close.  It is an opportunity for some special moments of peace in a busy world.  Everyone is welcome to join us.  We would love to see you.

LADIES NIGHT OUT  The next meeting will be on June 14th at the usual venue of the Oadby Grange Farm Pub at 7.30. This will be the last meeting until September to cater for summer holidays. Our numbers are growing but new members will be very welcome. To book your place or if you need transport please contact Mo John on 07818003392 or 01162593504 or e- mail mojohnal@gmail.com

VERGERS  We would like to increase the number of people able to help with verger duties at weddings and funerals.  To obtain further details please contact Amy Cook on 2592610.  A fee is payable.

BISHOPS GARDEN PARTY An open invitation from the Bishop to visit his garden and chapel on 24th June, 2 - 5 pm at Bishop's Lodge, Springfield Street, Leicester.   Activities for children, live music, quiz, tea and cakes. Entry is £2 which is in aid of Leicester City Sanctuary (a local charity supporting asylum seekers and refugees).

LIFTS TO SERVICES If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.

KEEPING PEOPLE IN TOUCH  Please do take copies of this news-sheet to anyone you know who might be interested, especially to those who can’t get to church at the moment.

WHY NOT put an extra can or tin in your shopping basket to bring to church services.  St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity.  No biscuits, cereals or any other packet foods please as the mice are quite partial to these.

Please pray for:
·      Mollie Alexander, Margaret Bannister, Lara Beech, Sue Burnham, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, Mike and Katherine and family, and all who are ill
·         the soul of Wendy Hickling
·         the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return
·         all the victims, their families and friends of the Manchester terror attack
·         for the victims of the devastating bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan
·         Niall O'leary and Alice Taylor who were married on 3rd June at St Cuthbert’s
