At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

THE CECILIAN SINGERS: One of Leicestershire’s leading mixed voice chamber choirs will be paying their first visit to sing in St Cuthbert’s Church on Friday 8th December at 7.30 pm.  Wine or soft drinks and mince pies will be served during the interval.  Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £5 for children and are available from Moira.
QUIET PRAYER AND MEDITATION:  The next meeting is on December 13th at 3.30pm at 20, Kingfisher Close.   It is an opportunity for some special moments of peace in a busy world.   Everyone is welcome to join us.  We would love to see you,
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS:  If you would like to make a donation towards the cost of the Christmas flowers at St Cuthbert’s Church would you please hand it to Phyllis Hallam, Carol Neal or Lyn Flowers.
CAROL SINGING:  There will be a short choir practice on Thursday 7th December at 7:00 pm at St Cuthbert’s for anyone who would like to join us in singing at the YEWS on Sunday 10th and/or Saturday 16th December.
DERADA, TANZANIA: As most of you know we have been supporting a church in Tanzania helping them to build their church building. Once completed it will become a community centre for the village as well as eventually being used for a school. They are now on the last phase of building and we would like to give them another gift; to finish the build.  The cost will be £2900.  All throughout December we will have a box in the back of church for you to make donations.  Would you please pray whether or not you can help us reach the goal of helping them finish the project. Thank you!
CHRISTMAS CARDS:  Our annual Christmas cards will be delivered in the next week or two. If you normally deliver cards it would be good if you would be willing to help. If you have not helped before it would be great to have help, especially on the new estates. Also this year we will have a Magazine to hand out together with the Christmas Cards that will share the love of Christ with others in the village.  So please do help if you can.
LADIES NIGHT OUT: The December Ladies Night Out has been booked and names already given to Mo – since we had to book numbers for this busy time. The January LNO will be on Wednesday 17th at 7.30pm, Oadby Grange Farm pub. February date is 21st. Any enquiries or lift requests please e-mail or ring Mo, thank-you.

RAFFLE PRIZES FOR CARLTON CURLIEU:  This year after the Carol Service we are going to have a small raffle during the refreshments. We are looking for a few good quality prizes to help us raise money for the church. Please contact Kim if you have anything that could add to the prizes for that evening. Thank you for your help.
CARDS FOR GOOD CAUSES: Cards for at least 25 charities are now being sold at the Multi Charity Christmas Card Shop in St Martin’s Square, Leicester, Monday to Saturday 10 am to 4 pm until 14th December.
LIFTS TO SERVICES: If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Rev’d Kim for Great Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy to arrange one for you.
WHY NOT put an extra can or tin in your shopping basket to bring to church services.  St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity.  No biscuits, cereals or any other packet foods please as the mice are quite partial to these.
Please pray for:
·         Mollie Alexander, Margaret Bannister, Sue Burnham, Christine Higgins,  Katherine, Mike and family, Eileen Spencer, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, and all who are ill
·         the soul of Angela Oatway
·         Zoe Hunt who will be baptised at St Cuthbert’s on Sunday 3rd December
