NOTICES

Our group will meet again at 3.30pm on Wednesday June 6th at 20, Kingfisher Close. This is just another part of the deep and strong circle of prayer in our 3 parishes. It lasts about an hour - with appropriate readings and short times of silence. Anyone is welcome to this quiet oasis of within the busyness of our everyday life.
If you would like more information, then ring Christine Higgins on 259 2624.

Prayers for Healing
Special prayers for healing will be available during communion at the 9.15 am service the first Sunday of each month. Please come up for communion and if you wish to have prayer simply go the area near the font where there will be people to pray with you.

Advance Notice:
Cream Teas on the Vicarage Lawn, 23rd June 2:30-4pm
We are hoping to have traditional cream teas (marques will be put up), a cake stall, bric-a-brac and a few games for the children. We are now in need of prizes for a raffle, bric-a-brac items for our second hand stall, sign up list for cakes to sell and also those who be willing to make scones. Also some willing volunteers to help on the day. If you can help in any way please see Kim, Carol N or Amy.

Tanzania 24th May to 4th June
please pray for Kim as she goes to visit schools in Tanzania. We are trying to establish links with schools in Leicester and Tanzania so that both schools can nurture understanding the wider world. Charlie will also be joining Kim on this trip so please pray for them both.

Ladies Night Out will be on 20th June and then not again until August 22nd. Our next meal, Ladies, will be on 20th June, 7.30pm at the Oadby Grange Pub – our usual hostelry. But for August I have provisionally booked 10 places for a lunchtime meal at the Old Crown, Tur Langton for 12.30. So an interest in coming, as soon as possible, would be appreciated, especially for the August Ladies shared meal out.
A future notice for December is again a provisional booking with Launde Abbey for 14th December lunchtime, more details in the next Magazine. However the December meal out will be open to bring a friend/partner. Mo and I look forward to seeing you at church, or around the villages

Parish Giving Scheme Digital Launch
I reported to members of the congregation at St. Cuthbert’s that we were expecting the “soft launch” for the online sign up of the Parish Giving Scheme to be the 9th April. However I have just received an email from the Diocese Generous Giving Advisor that there has been a delay. They now expect the launch to take place probably in the summer.  In the meantime if you are considering supporting the mission and ministry of our church on a regular basis by direct debit they suggest that we continue to use the paper forms for the time being. There are some packs containing forms on the table just inside church or ask me to bring you one. Amy Cook 259 2610, amy@cooksonline.net

Men’s curry night 6th June
Informal night with food and good company. Contact Charlie if you would like to join the men for the evening on 07534401547 or Charles.ford316@gmail.com

9th June, Discovering Rural Gems
Bishop Martyn invites you to join him at the grounds of Brooksby Hall. It is a day of celebrating rural life, church and food. Please see notice broad outside the church for details.

Junior Tennis on Wednesdays
Come along to The Springs, Carlton Lane, Burton Overy on Wednesdays between 5.00 and 6.00. Dave Henson has kindly agreed to teach the children – plenty of rackets to borrow, and drinks and crisps available after the sport. Older children and parents are welcome to play after the youngsters finish. Anne Bloor 259-2440 rabloor@gmail.com

Treasurer Needed
After many years of service Jane Parkinson would like to step down as treasurer. We've have so appreciated all of her hard work in keeping our affairs in order. Now we are looking to find someone to take her place. You do not need to be an accountant just someone good with numbers. Jane is happy to show someone how to do the books so there is training available. There are others who do the deposits and write the cheques we simply need someone to do the account. If you have the skills or know someone who does please talk to Kim or one of the church wardens.

Please Pray for:
·        Mollie Alexander
·        Margaret Bannister
·        Sue Burnham
·        Christine Higgins
·        Katherine Higgins
·        Lyn Flowers
·        Elizabeth Tacey
·        Martin Tacey
·        Dave Neal
·        and all who are ill.
·        The souls of Lyn Flowers and
Una Cooper
