to the glory of God the Father

Post Communion Prayer:
Eternal God, giver of love and power,
your Son Jesus Christ has sent us into all the world

St. Mary's
In the current church magazine St. Mary's, Carlton Curlieu has unfortunately been left out of the listings in the Calendar of Services. The correct listing for Sunday 1 July should read: 8:00am Holy Communion, St. Mary's, Carlton Curlieu. The 'person' responsible for this error has been reprimanded, and in future will read twice, type once! Remember up-to-date listings can be found in the now weekly 'News in the Pews'. Garry

Ladies Night Out Join us for a night out this Wednesday 16th May, 7.30pm at The Grange Farm Pub, Oadby. The next one will be 20th June. This is a group of ladies who like to share fellowship over a meal, you are welcome to join us. Carole Henson and Mo John mojohnal@gmail.com Tel. 0116 2593504

Avenue of Prayer 10th - 20th May at St Cuthbert's, we are having our avenue of prayer again this year. There will be prayer triangle available at the church, post office and Dolly's. Simply pick up a triangle, write a prayer and either peg it to the tape outside the church or leave it in the box where you have picked it up and it will be put up for you. We will gather all of the prayers together and pray for them at Pentecost. The triangles will be available by the 6th May.

Treasurer Needed After many years of service Jane Parkinson would like to step down as treasurer. We've have so appreciated all of her hard work in keeping our affairs in order. Now we are looking to find someone to take her place. You do not need to be an accountant just someone good with numbers. Jane is happy to show someone how to do the book so there is training available. There are others who do the deposits and write the cheques we simply need someone to do the account. If you have the skills or know someone who does please talk to Kim or one of the church wardens.

Cream Teas on the Vicarage Lawn, 23rd June 2:30-4pm
We are hoping to have traditional cream teas (marques will be put up), a cake stall, bric-a-brac and a few games for the children. This will be in place of the church fete this year. Due to several different factors we are unable to do the church fete so we have decided to do something slightly different. More details to come in the following weeks.

Prayers for Healing Special prayers for healing will be available at the 9:15am service on the first Sunday of each month. Please come up for communion and if you wish to have prayer simply go to kitchen area where there will be people to pray with you.

Christian Aid Envelopes This year from Ascension to Pentecost we will be taking a collection for Christian Aid. If you wish to give to their appeal for Haiti this year please find the envelopes at the back of each church, fill them in and place them in the box on the table.

Oberammergau 2020 I am looking to organise a group of people to join me for 8 days in Oberammergau. For those who have not heard of this, the small German village offers an amazing live passion play of the life, death and resurrection of Christ. They only hold it every 10 years and that is why booking this far in advance is important. We will have 2 nights in the village and the other days spent in the Austrian mountains visiting places such as Salzburg. The price will be around £1650-£1700 all inclusive (flights, travel, hotels and food) and we hope to go either June or July 2020 of course there will be more details nearer the time. If you’re interested please contact Kim Ford on 001162592238 or email kimberleykford@aim.com.
