Collect for Today:
by the lakeside you renewed your call to your
disciples:
help your Church to obey your command
and draw the nations to the fire of your love,
to the glory of God the Father.
Post Communion Prayer:
whose
Son Jesus Christ gives the water of eternal life:
may we
thirst for you,
the
spring of life and source of goodness,
through
him who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.

We are hoping to have
traditional cream teas (marques will be put up), a cake stall, bric-a-brac and
a few games for the children. This will be in place of the church fete this
year. Due to several different factors we are unable to do the church fete so
we have decided to do something slightly different.

I reported to members
of the congregation at St. Cuthbert’s that we were expecting the “soft launch” for
the online sign up of the Parish Giving Scheme to be the 9th April.
However I have just received an email from the Diocese Generous Giving Advisor
that there has been a delay. They now expect the launch to take place probably
in the summer. In the meantime if you
are considering supporting the mission and ministry of our church on a regular
basis by direct debit they suggest that we continue to use the paper forms for
the time being. There are some packs containing forms on the table just inside
church or ask me to bring you one. Amy Cook 259 2610, amy@cooksonline.net
Avenue
of Prayer 10th - 20th May at
St Cuthbert's, we are having our avenue of prayer again this year. There will be prayer triangle available at the church, post office and Dolly's. Simply pick up a triangle, write a prayer and either peg it to the tape outside the church or leave it in the box where you have picked it up and it will be put up for you. We will gather all of the prayers together and pray for them at Pentecost. The triangles will be available by the 6th May.

Treasurer
Needed
After many years of service Jane Parkinson would like to step down as
treasurer. We've have so appreciated all of her hard work in keeping our
affairs in order. Now we are looking to find someone to take her place. You do
not need to be an accountant just someone good with numbers. Jane is happy to
show someone how to do the book so there is training available. There are
others who do the deposits and write the cheques we simply need someone to do the
account. If you have the skills or know someone who does please talk to Kim or
one of the church wardens.
Christian
Aid Envelopes
This year from Ascension to Pentecost we will be taking a collection for
Christian Aid. If you wish to give to their appeal for Haiti this year please
find the envelopes at the back of each church, fill them in and place them in
the box on the table.
