Sunday 30th December – 6th January
Epiphany

Collect for Sunday 30th December
God in Trinity,
eternal unity of perfect love:
gather the nations to be one family,
and draw us into your holy life
through the birth of Emmanuel,
our Lord Jesus Christ.

Post Communion Prayer
Heavenly Father,
whose blessed Son shared at Nazareth the life of an earthly home:
help your Church to live as one family,
united in love and obedience,
and bring us all at last to our home
in heaven;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas Tree Festival at Burton Overy.

The favourite trees were:
Adult Section
1.     It's blooming Christmas by Zoe Williamson and Louisa Rawlings.
2.    While shepherds washed their socks by night by Barbara Lloyd
3.    A lava-tree by Diane Delahooke

Zoe and Louisa enter a tree every year and create a masterpiece each time.  Their entry this year, covered in crafted flowers, is still in church - do have a closer look.

Children's Section
1.     Festive Fiesta! by Lottie King
2.     Farmer Christmas by George, Arthur and Charlie Barbour
3.     Christmas Truce by St Cuthbert's Primary School 9-10years

The proceeds of £8734 will be shared between St Andrew's Church, Burton Overy Village Hall and Dementia UK to support an Admiral nurse to assist local families coping with dementia.

Our thanks to Caroline Carson and her large team of helpers for their hard work for the Festival - it brought a lot of joy to many people

House Group every Monday Night, 7:30pm at 6 Hilltop Avenue
Starting again on the 7th Jan, If you are interested in being part of this group that meets together to go deeper in the understanding of Christ and his word, please come and talk to Kim or Linda for more details.

Sound and Vision
We are now developing more services using sound and vision; using the digital projector and mixing the sound through the sound desk. We are keen to get more people involved in helping to set up and "tech" some of these services both at St Andrew's and St Cuthbert's. If you think this is something you could help with, please speak to Dave or Simon.

Collect for Sunday 6th January
O God, who by the leading of a star
manifested you only Son to the peoples of the earth:
mercifully grant that we,
who know you now by faith,
may at last behold your glory face to face; Through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Post Communion, 6th January
Lord God, the bright splendour whom the nations seek: may we who with the wise men have been drawn by your light discern the glory of your presence in your Son, the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ our Lord.
