Collect
for Today
God of all mercy,
your Son proclaimed good
news
to the poor,
to the poor,
release to the captives,
and freedom to the
oppressed:
anoint us with your Holy
Spirit
and set all your people
free
to praise you in Christ
our Lord.
Post
Communion Prayer
Almighty Father,
whose Son our Saviour
Jesus Christ is the light of the world: may your people,
illumined by your word
and sacraments,
shine with the radiance
of his glory,
that he may be known, worshipped,
and obeyed to the ends of the earth;
for he is alive and
reigns,
now and for ever.
now and for ever.

NOTICES
Family Movie Night
Friday 1st
February – 5.30pm
St Cuthbert’s
We would like to try a new venture and have a movie night while the days
are short and the weather is cold. We will be showing a family appropriate
movie but it will hopefully be one all can enjoy.
We will be providing food on the night so the tickets will be £2 per
adult and £1 for children under 16. Please watch this space for more details in
the near future.
A Place of Welcome
Our first meeting of the new year will be Wednesday 6th
February at 1.15pm at Great Glen Youth Centre.
Please note our new finishing time of 2.45pm.
Sound and Vision
We are now developing
more services using sound and vision; using the digital projector and mixing
the sound to get more people involved in helping to set up and "tech"
some of these services both at St Andrew's and St Cuthbert's. If you think this
is something you could help with, please speak to Dave or Simon.

to the next church magazine is getting very close.
If you have something you'd like to share with
the rest of us, then please put pen to paper.

Community
of the Tree of Life
We are pleased to announce that one of our
young people, Isaac Ford, has been accepted to join the Community. He will
start at the beginning of February. It is a great opportunity for him to serve
the Lord in a new and exciting way. He will be part of the ‘seed community,’
which means he will help form what the community will look like and looking
towards finding opportunities to work with various organizations throughout
Leicestershire. The community will be a community based on regular rhythms of
prayer throughout the day as well as serving the communities around them.
He is looking forward to this new way of life
and will be there for at least 6 months. While he is there we as a church are
asking for your support for him during this time. He is looking for people who
will be willing to back him in prayer, as this will be a very different way of
life for him as he seeks God’s guidance for his future and serves in new ways.
There will be bookmarks for you to take away as a reminder to pray for him if
you would like to do so.
He also needs to raise a bit more money to be
able to pay the fees for this journey. He has saved over £3000 himself but
still needs to raise another £1000. If you would like to give towards that
amount please see him for details or take an envelope at the back of church and
put it into our normal offering plate. Any moneys earmarked for Isaac will be
gathered and given to him when we pray for him on his last Sunday with us on the 27th January at Burton Overy.
Please do take the time to have a chat with him and find out more.
Isaac
will be commissioned at this service and it will be followed by tea and cakes
in the Village Hall
