News in the Pews

Sunday 27th January – 4th of Epiphany

Collect for Today
God of heaven,
you send the gospel to the ends of
the earth and your messengers to every nation:
send your Holy Spirit to transform us
by the good news of everlasting life
in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Post Communion Prayer
Generous Lord,
in word and eucharist we have
proclaimed the mystery of your love:
help us so to live out our days
that we may be signs of your wonders in the world;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

You are invited to join us on the 1stFeb to watch the movie ‘Up.’ The movie is about, "Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old balloon salesman, is about to fulfill a lifelong dream, that he promised his dying wife. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he flies away to the South American wilderness. But curmudgeonly Carl's worst nightmare comes true when he discovers a little boy named Russell is a stowaway aboard the balloon-powered house.” Rated U.
We will be providing a meal and snacks for the movie on the night so the tickets will be £2.50 per adult and £1 for children under 16 to cover the food. Please sign up so we have an idea of how many to cater for. Hope you can join us.

Isaac wants to say a huge thank you to all of you who have been an encouragement to him, prayed for him and given money towards his new journey. It has meant a lot to him and he will say a personal thank you to all of you at coffee time. Please join us in the village hall after the service for tea and cake, everyone is invited.

Sound and Vision
We are now developing more services using sound and vision; using the digital projector and mixing the sound to get more people involved in helping to set up and "tech" some of these services both at St Andrew's and St Cuthbert's.
