for Today
Almighty
God,
give
us reverence for all creation
and
respect for every person,
that
we may mirror your likeness
in
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Post
Communion Prayer
God
our creator, by your gift
the
tree of life was set at the heart of the earthly paradise,
and
the bread of life at the heart of your Church: may we who have been nourished
at your table on earth
be
transformed by the glory of the Saviour’s cross
and
enjoy the delights of eternity;
through
Jesus Christ our Lord.

World Day of Prayer - 1st March at
2.15pm - Methodist
Church
‘Church At The Cross’ - Oaks Road, Great Glen.
‘Church At The Cross’ - Oaks Road, Great Glen.
Each year the service is put together by a different
country and this year it is the women of Slovenia who have taken on this task.
As we participate in this service we will be part of a wave of prayer encircling
the globe. It is an open invitation for all to come to God’s table to pray
throughout 120 countries and islands around the world commencing as the sun
rises over Samoa and ending 38 hours later back in the Pacific as the sun sets
once more.
Refreshments will be served in the hall after the
service. We look forward to greeting you.
Lent Course
This year will be a 6 week course and we will be
following the TV series called 'Broken.'
“The series focuses on Michael Kerrigan (Sean Bean), the priest of a Roman
Catholic parish in a northern English city, who despite suffering from his own
troubles stemming from a traumatic childhood, tries to guide several of his
most vulnerable parishioners through the trials and tribulations of everyday
life."
The course will start on the 4th and 6th
March, we will watch an episode and have a discussion to follow.
There will be two choices, Monday nights or
Wednesday afternoons. Monday nights will start on the 4th March at
7pm for 6 consecutive weeks at 6 Hilltop Ave. Wednesday afternoons will start
on the 6th March at 1:30pm for 6 consecutive weeks at the Methodist
Church. Please sign up for one or the other so we have an idea of numbers for
each venue. If you have any questions please ask Kim.
Church Electoral Roll
Every six years we have to totally renew our church electoral roll, this is one of those years. If you would like to be on the church electoral roll please pick up a form at the back of the church and give it to Helen Dartnall (or place in the blue folder at the back of church) for St Cuthbert's, or please give form to Anne Warwick for St Andrew's and St Mary's.

A Deanery Evening
St Paul’s Church, Oadby
“Shaped Every Day”
“Shaped Every Day”
Thursday 28th
March - 7.30pm
A special evening hosted by Bishop Martyn, Bishop Guli and the Gartree
Deanery. This is part of a series of ten such evenings taking place
around the whole diocese in the first quarter of 2019. As we begin to
look forward to 2026 when we will celebrate our Centenary as a diocese, we are
beginning to ask how we will be Shaped by God in the coming years.
There are many different aspects to this question,
but these deanery evenings are intended as the next step in exploring Christian discipleship and every day faith.
