Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES
The Mission Partnership Celebration Service which is being held at St Peter’s Church, Oadby and NOT at St Paul’s, Oadby as previously stated. Robert Brown is speaking about the Christmas Tree Festival.
Moira and Howard Bartlett would like to thank everyone for the kindness, support and good wishes that they have received over the last few weeks since Moira’s father died. It really has been appreciated and has been a great comfort to them.
Churchwarden Vacancy – There is a vacancy for a Churchwarden and applications will be invited prior to the Church AGM which will take place on Sunday, 1st May, after a short Evening Service. Details of the duties of the Churchwardens are available from our current Churchwarden, David Graves. Members of the Church are encouraged to think about whether this might be an opportunity for them to help the church by sharing the workload.
The Concert which is taking place on Tuesday, 29th March, at 7.30 p.m. is being given by The Tudor Singers. The programme is called SPRING SHOWTIME and consists of a medley of songs and recitations from the shows. The proceeds from the concert will be divided between St Cuthbert’s Church and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets cost £10. including cake and coffee afterwards and may be ordered in advance from Moira Bartlett (259 3737).

The Benefice Prayer Group will continue to meet on Wednesday mornings to pray for the people and issues in our churches, villages and the wider world. There is a Prayer Request Box at the back of St Cuthbert’s Church – please do use it and encourage everyone to use it whether they share our faith and our church-going habits or not!
Prayer List – During Mary’s absence, could people contact either David Graves, Roger Flowers or Angela Allen with the names of anyone who is sick and needs to be visited and/or prayed for.
Churches Together in Great Glen 2011 Lent Course – The Lent Course this year takes place on Wednesday evenings in Lent at the Methodist Church at 7.30 p.m. and the topics to be covered are as follows:-
16th March Sacrifice led by Roger Flowers
23rd March Salvation led by Roger Flowers
30th March Suffering led by Revd Gordon Webb
6th April Sackcloth led by Revd Paul Richards
13th April Self-Preservation led by Revd Paul Richards
NIP during Mary’s sabbatical will be produced on a fortnightly basis rather than a weekly one to reduce the workload.
Vergers at St Cuthbert’s – We need a few more people who would be willing to act as verger at weddings and funerals on an occasional basis. If you can help or would like to know more about what is involved, please contact David Graves on 271 4420.
Film Show in Great Glen Village Hall – The next film show takes place on Saturday, 19th March, and is entitled “Another Year” starring Jim Broadbent. Tickets cost £4. and are available from Great Glen Post Office.
Lili Parrington – A plaque is being dedicated to Lili at the Village Hall on Saturday, 16th April. Tea and cake will be served at 3 p.m. followed by the dedication. Anyone who knew Lili will be very welcome.
Children during the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services are invited to move into the north aisle (whether at Glen or Burton) after the Gloria to engage with the day’s bible story in ways that they will appreciate. They rejoin their parents in the pews at The Peace.
Hearing Loop – St Andrew’s Church at Burton Overy now has a hearing loop as part of the loudspeaker system. If you wear a hearing aid, adjust the switch to the T position and you will hear the service clearly.
