with the Jubilee celebrations in Great Glen, Burton
Overy and Carlton
Curlieu and a big thank you to those who made such lovely floral displays in
the parish churches. It was such a

Supper and India Talk – will
be held on 30th June at Burton Overy Village Hall, 7pm for 7.30pm. Mary will give an illustrated talk about her
recent trip to India
to take part in the Rotary ‘ End Polio Now’
Project which is beginning to bear fruit in terms or ridding the world
of Polio disease. In aid of St.
Cuthbert’s Church funds. Tickets are
£8.50 (includes a glass of fruit juice) from Carole Henson. You are welcome to bring more drink
(juice/wine/etc) if you wish.

The next Timeout will be on
Friday 6th July, 4-6pm at St. Cuthbert’s Church. Please bring your own food and drink
(wine/beer/etc) – we will provide juice for the children and tea/coffee. Pizzas etc can be cooked or heated in the
oven. Games for the children will be
organised so come and enjoy yourselves – there will be a short time of prayer
for your concerns.
A flower arranging demonstration by Rosemary Mason will be held on
Thursday September 6th in aid of St. Cuthbert’s Church funds. Rosemary is going to be featured in a programme entitled "The Royal Warrant Holders " on ITV3 on the 24th June. Rosie holds a warrant for making the posies carried by the Queen and her attendants at the Maundy Services. Details of our event will be in the July magazine.

Wednesday 20th June: Exploring sculpture and artistic objects with Sue
Pyecroft, a puppeteer, artist, teacher and theatre designer. She has
designed and built giant puppets and structures for carnival parades and her
puppets have been seen recently in the National Theatre’s production of War
Horse [2007], and in several Curve Theatre productions.
Wednesday 27th June: Exploring textiles with Heather Marshall, a textile artist who
creates stoles, vestments, altar cloths as well as large-scale textile pieces
for private and public spaces. She
explores spiritual themes, colour relationships, combinations and associations
to create different feelings, moods and emotions and even an idea of a time or
place.
