If you are a communicant member
of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and
wine. Otherwise you are welcome to
either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will
signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the
Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a
sidesman.

Bring and Share BBQ Lunch will be on Sunday, 26th
August from 12 noon onwards in the garden
of St Cuthbert 's Vicarage
(weather permitting!). Plenty of space
for everyone - do come and join us.
Bring your own plates and cups and cold drinks. We will provide the cutlery, tea and coffee.
Red
Cross Big Wheel Appeal:
More wheelchairs are needed locally to be loaned to people for temporary
situations. There will be a bucket in
the back of our churches for the next few weeks if you would like to contribute
to this appeal by the Leics. & Rutland
branch of the Red Cross.
The
next Sunday Breakfast
will be on Sunday, 12th August at 9.15am after the 8.30am service at St
Cuthbert's Church.
A flower-arranging
demonstration by Rosemary Mason will be held on Thursday evening, September
6th, in aid of St Cuthbert's Church funds.
Rosie holds a warrant for making the posies carried by the Queen and her
attendants at the Maundy Services.

Service
Amendments - There is a
correction to a few services detailed in
the Church Magazine Summer Issue.
The services on the 26th August are 8.30 a.m. at St Cuthbert's and 10.30
a.m. at St Andrew's (in the magazine they are they are the other way round).
LEP
discussions - On the
19th August, we will be sharing both 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. services with Glen Methodist
Church . On the 16th September we have arranged an
open meeting to discuss whether or not to continue our exploration of joining
the two churches together. This is to
enable an open discussion on the matter with no preconceived decisions. The meeting will take place after the 10.30
a.m. service and will be followed by a bring and share lunch.
Sparklers
needs a leader – We need
someone who is willing to chat to and get to know the families who come, and
occasionally lead the short simple service (song, story, prayers). Please can everyone pray about this and think
about who might be able to take on this role for us. Please contact Mary on 259 2238 with any
queries or thoughts. Thank you.
Prayer
Book Society Evensong
(BCP) will take place at All Saints' Church, Church Street , Blaby, at 3 p.m. All welcome.
Teas
in Church at Tilton on the Hill on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th August 2012 are continuing after a
successful July. Tea, coffee, cake and
cream teas will be served from 3 - 5 p.m. in St Peter's Church , LE7 9LG . There is a disabled access and everyone is
welcome.
Coffee
Morning and Table Top Sale in aid of Church funds on 11th August 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at St Paul's
& St Augustine's Worship Centre on Kirby Road (off Fosse Road
Central). Clothes, bric a brac, books,
records and furniture. Teas, coffees,
and lunches will served. There will also
be a tombola in aid of The Children's Society.
Admission free.
Coffee
Morning at St James the Greater, Oaks in Charnwood on 4th August from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. There will be sales tables in the hall. This is a church fund-raising event. Admission
50p.

Hearing Loop – St Andrew’s Church at
Burton Overy now has a hearing loop as part of the loudspeaker system. If you wear a hearing aid, adjust the switch
to the T position and you will hear the service clearly.
Children
during the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services - There are bible quizzes, colouring pictures, bible
stories, etc available in a children's area in the north aisle (whether at Glen
or Burton ). We hope that all children will come to the
altar with their families to receive a blessing (or communion if they normally
receive this).
