There will be a pony as usual to take part in the procession after the Palm Sunday service which begins at 10.30 a.m. at Burton Overy church on Sunday, 24th March.  The children make palm branches during the service to use during the procession - it's a family event for everyone .  Do come and the pony will happily be patted and be sat upon afterwards.

Good Friday Breakfast - Songs, prayers and activities for all ages will take place as usual from 8 a.m. in Burton Overy Village Hall.  Do come and join us! Why not invite your grandchildren or any new neighbours who have moved into the village. It is a very sociable event.

Easter Sunday United Service - Following breakfast in the Methodist church hall, we shall start the 10.30 a.m. Family Service in the Methodist Church (with the young families downstairs this year!), then process up to St Cuthbert's for the Holy Communion part of the service, followed by the children's Easter Egg treasure hunt.

Enter the events of Holy Week by coming to the Choral Passion Service at St. Cuthbert’s Church led by the choir at 6.30pm on Palm Sunday.

Holy Week reflective Services: Musical Reflections for Holy Week. Mon, Tues, Wed 7.30 - 8pm.  Listen to a recording and reflect upon 3 pieces of classical choral music. Each evening we will focus on a different piece, with some background to the composition and how it links to Holy Week. There will be a related bible reading and prayers.

Lent Courses -Each Wednesday session starts at 7.30 p.m. at Glen Methodist Church.  We are doing a York course called "Glimpses of God".  DO COME even if you can't attend all the sessions!

HELP NEEDED with young families work. Sparklers is going to need a leader (preferably two leaders) to run it after Easter.  There is a team of young mums who do the crafts, so it's not very time-consuming.  Tessa Mynott will also need some assistance with Messy Church (about three times a term) and Carol Neal would like a partner to work with her with Timeout (once a month).

Easter Lilies - If anyone would like to make a contribution towards the church Easter lilies at Great Glen, would you please give your donation to Arthur Whitfield as soon as possible.

Christ in the Centre 10th Anniversary

CHRIST IN THE CENTRE is a full, dramatic recreation of the Easter story – it’s one of the biggest and most effective pieces of Christian outreach staged in the country.  The 2013 production will be staged on Good Friday, March 29th in Humberstone Gate, Leicester. There will be two performances – the first starting at 11am and the second at 2pm. This year will feature a new script by noted author Meg Harper, based on her existing play “The First Easter” with several new scenes written especially for the Leicester event.
