If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.   Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

Remedial works to the north porch - You will now see the extent of the repair work needed to the porch and this does mean that the porch must remain closed until this work is completed and consequently the toilets are not in use.   Access to the church will only be gained via the south porch.  It is suggested that anyone approaching from Church Road use the kissing gate and footpath to the side in order to keep well away from the building site.

Car Parking - For safety reasons, please ensure that when attending Church services you do not park within 35 metres of the old A6 junction.

Hearing Loop - Due to the change of plan and the extent of the porch repair work, the loop will be installed at the end of July or early August.

Fund Raising for St Andrew's - Thank you to everyone who supported our Boden Sale and the Tom Bowes concert.  The sale made £610 on the day, to which will be added the Boden commission in due course.  The final total is likely to exceed £1,000.  The Tom Bowes evening was also a great success and raised £805. for the Death Watch Beatle Fund.  Thanks also to all those who supported the Leicestershire Round Sponsored Walk.  Over 75 walkers really enjoyed what was a real community event.  Final figures yet to be announced.

Burton Overy Scarecrow Festival takes place on Saturday, the 29th, and Sunday, the 30th, June from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.  There will be a sausage sizzle and teas in the Village Hall.  Please support this major fund raising event if you can.  If you can help make a scarecrow or staff the kitchen or one of the car parks or bake cakes for what will be a very big event, we would be very grateful for your help.  Please contact Robert Brown on 259 3184 or email cdalec20@gmail.com.

Children during the 10.30 a.m. Communion Services - There are bible quizzes, colouring pictures, bible stories, etc available in a children's area in the north aisle (whether at Glen or Burton).  We hope that all children will come to the altar with their families to receive a blessing (or communion if they normally receive this).

Hearing Loop – St Andrew’s Church at Burton Overy has a hearing loop as part of the loudspeaker system.  If you wear a hearing aid, adjust the switch to the T position and you will hear the service clearly.
