What do you think?  At a recent meeting of the Diocesan Synod, members were asked to approve the adoption of national guidelines in relation to alternative uses of closed church buildings to other faiths, but only in limited circumstances for worship by other faiths.  During the 1980s, the Leicester Diocesan Synod voted against such sales.  The Archdeacon proposed the motion that we should now adopt national guidelines.  An interesting debate followed and concern expressed by some people that to sell for worship use was not right.  The debate was adjourned for people to have further time to reflect in the light of present legislation under the Human Rights Act, which could bring a challenge to the present position in Leicester.  I would be very interested to know how you feel.  I am asking myself WWJD - What would Jesus do?
