What
do you think? At a recent meeting of
the Diocesan Synod, members were asked to approve the adoption of national
guidelines in relation to alternative uses of closed church buildings to other
faiths, but only in limited circumstances for worship by other faiths.
During the 1980s, the Leicester Diocesan Synod voted against such
sales. The Archdeacon proposed the
motion that we should now adopt national guidelines. An interesting debate followed and concern
expressed by some people that to sell for worship
use was not right. The debate was
adjourned for people to have further time to reflect in the light of present
legislation under the Human Rights Act, which could bring a challenge to the
present position in Leicester. I would
be very interested to know how you feel.
I am asking myself WWJD - What would Jesus do?

sit on the abdomen and I agree."
Please pray:-
·
For the family and friends of Tom Marshall and Jim
Dunning who died recently.
·
For Peter Wood, John Spencer, Myra Humphrey,
Judith Buffrey’s grandson Joel, Rachel Stevens, and all who are ill.
·
For the love and support of our families and
friends.
·
For both the survivors and those who lost their
lives in the tragedy of the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi.
·
For news that is emerging today of a boat sinking
off the coast of Sicily with many dead.
