BURTON OVERY CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 2015. This year’s Christmas Tree Festival was held on December 4, 5 and 6, and was our 16th year of holding this fantastic event. The village looked wonderful this year as many of the villagers put up their Christmas lights early. The Church was lit up with a splendid display of over 50 trees which created a magical atmosphere. As well as the Church, the Village Hall was open for Christmas shopping with many gift stalls, the Ashley farm shop, chocolate tombola, face painting, home baked cakes and refreshments.  Proceeds from the festival will be shared between St Andrew’s Church, the Village Hall and the British Heart foundation. The final figure for the fund raising is estimated to be over £8,000.   The continuing success of the festival is due to all the hard work put in by volunteers from the village community.  The Vicar, the Churchwardens and the Church Council, together with the 2015 festival organising committee are grateful to everyone who gave up their time to make it happen, and to everyone who entered and decorated a tree and thought up wonderfully inventive titles.
