At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a
Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and
wine. Otherwise you are welcome to
either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will
signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the
Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a
sidesman.

NOTICES
CHURCH FETE 11th JUNE We
are coming very quickly to our church fete and really looking forward to
celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday with the church and the village. We still need your help! We require volunteers to help make the day run
smoothly and we would welcome bric-a-brac, bottles for the bottle tombola, toys
and books. Also we will be having a
plant sale so if you would like to add anything to that you can. Feel free to start bringing ideas to St
Cuthbert's from this Sunday onwards.

SECURITY OF OUR
CHURCHES Sadly
South Leicestershire Churches are again suffering from lead thefts. Please keep a look-out for anything
suspicious when you are passing your Church and contact your Churchwarden. At St Cuthbert’s we keep the double gates
closed and our villagers should be aware
that if the gates are open outside service times they have reason to be doubly
aware of a possible problem.
SAVE THE DATE! July 2nd will be
our benefice BBQ in David Alexander's garden. More details will follow.
THE ABUNDANCE OF GOD: A RETREAT DAY This quiet
day, at Launde Abbey, on Monday 5th September (10am to 4pm) is led by
Sally Hayden and Barry Hill. The day includes talks and exercises on Noticing Abundance and Saying Thank You, and includes plenty of space for
quiet and a Eucharist. All are welcome
to the day which is one of Launde’s regular quiet days on the theme of God’s
abundance, you do not need any prior experience of retreat to attend. It
is an opportunity to learn, to meet others, spend some recuperative time and to
meet with God. Quiet Days, may, as the name suggests, involve some periods of
silence and there will be free time for you to spend on a favourite activity or
just relaxing in the Abbey and its grounds.
Price £25 per person, to include coffee, lunch and tea. Bookings direct
with Launde on 01572 717254
Please pray for:-
·
Margaret Bannister, Kit Burrows, Will Johnston,
Elizabeth
Tacey, Martin Tacey, and all who are
ill.
·
the people in Ukraine , Syria ,
Iraq , and Gaza , and all other places of conflict in the
world, that peace may return
·
the people in Sri Lanka who have had to flee
their homes following deadly floods and landslides
·
the victims of the Egyptair plane disaster and
their families
