Sunday 25th August – Tenth Sunday of Trinity

Collect for Today
Lord of heaven and earth,
as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer,
give us patience and courage never to lose hope,
but always to bring our prayers before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Post Communion Prayer
God of our pilgrimage,
you have willed that the gate of mercy
should stand open for those who trust in you:
look upon us with your favour
that we who follow the path of your will
may never wander from the way of life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

NOTICES

Isaac Ford will be leading Compline on Tuesday Nights at St Cuthbert’s throughout August at 8 pm. It will be a time to quiet your heart and minds at the end of the day. Each session will take about 30 minutes.

Ride & Stride - Saturday 14th September at All Churches
We can all help to raise some money for the church on this day.  Sponsor forms are now in all the churches for this event which is organised every year by the Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust.  Nearly every church door in Leicester and Leicestershire will be open on this day, including Great Glen, Burton Overy and Carlton Curlieu.  You can cycle ride or walk around as many churches as you like.  Please support the day in some way - cycling, walking, or manning our own churches and of course sponsoring any who are riding or striding. All money raised is shared  equally between the church of your choice and the Historic Churches Trust in Leicestershire which gives grants to churches to help with restoration costs

Ride and Stride Help
I am looking for people to 'meet and greet' all those who will be participating in this event. There is a list on the table for anyone to add their name who are able to sit in church for one hour, offer visitors a drink and biscuit (this will be provided) and sign their sponsor form.. Many thanks, Carol Neal.

Please Pray for:
Those who are long term ill:

Andrew and Mary Porter
Baby Willow Coates

Revd Sarah Collins whose details are on the front of your NIPs and of course our church wardens who are listed on the back of the NIPs. Thank you again for all of your love and support. Every Blessing, Kim

Message from Gareth Hutchinson:
I’m Gareth and am married to Laura, we have two boys Noah (aged 9) and Eli (aged 5).  Although I’m originally form Northern Ireland I’ve spent most of my life in England primarily in Swindon, which is where Laura and I started our married life together, before moving to Bristol for Bible college We’ve been in curacy at Church of the Martyrs in Leicester for just over 2 years.  Laura works part time as a teacher and then runs a charity named Leicester Baby Basics which supplies good quality second-hand baby kit to families who otherwise would not be able to afford the essentials.  For fun times together we like canoeing, Lego and ice-cream, although probably not all at the same time.  And our desire is to see more of who God is and what He’s doing both in our lives and in the lives of those we encounter
