At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

Thank you:
A huge thank you to those who helped at the recent visits to St Cuthbert’s Church by children from Leicester Grammar School.
Many thanks to the flower ladies who decorated our churches so beautifully for Harvest Festival with fantastic autumnal arrangements.
And grateful thanks to all those who gave money and tins of food at our Harvest Festivals.
Quiet Time of  Prayer And Meditation  at 20, Kingfisher Close  on October  19th at 3.30pm.
Ladies Night Out this month is on Wednesday 12th October at the Grange Farm pub in Oadby at 7.30pm.  Carole is trying to book the Bell at Burton Overy for the November outing and December 13th will be at 1 Coleman Road Fleckney, between 12 and 2pm.  Please bring along a guest and buffet food for a shared lunch.  Tea and coffee will be provided.  RSVP Carole and Dave Henson Tel.0116 2403368 (hensonc@talk21.com .  Lifts can provided for any of the above events.  If you have any queries contact details are above. Dave and Carole look forward to seeing you at church.
Intercessions  Anyone interested in helping with Intercessions, please see Rev Kim or Carole Henson.
The Derek Hole Annual Lecture will be given by our new Bishop, the Rt Revd Martyn Snow, at the University of Leicester on Thursday 13th October at 5.30pm.   The Lecture is entitled 'Pursuing Peace in a World of Faiths'.  To book a place email  events@le.ac.uk  or telephone 2525499 by 30th September.

Kitchen   The additional water damage of two weeks ago will delay repairs to the floor by a minimum of 8 weeks.  The circuits to the cooker are being re-examined in the next few days when a decision will be taken as to what further action is required.  Extreme care must be exercised on entering, and particularly leaving, the kitchen.  A MAXIMUM of two people are allowed in the kitchen at any one time.

Why not put an extra can or packet in your shopping basket to bring to
church services.  St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group
for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity.

Weekly Envelope Scheme  If anyone would like to support the church through the weekly envelope scheme, some spare sets of envelopes for the year September to August are available from Amy Cook.

Parish Giving Scheme  We are introducing a new Parish Giving Scheme as an alternative to those who give regularly by Standing Order or in envelopes, especially if you are able to Gift Aid.  In this scheme we can recover the Gift Aid generated each month rather than once a year, which makes financial planning easier.  Documentation is available from Amy Cook.
