Services
If you are a
communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive
the bread and wine. Otherwise you are
welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing. Keeping your hands down by your side will
signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing. If you have difficulty coming up to the
Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a
sidesman.

NOTICES
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the
flower ladies who have worked so hard both in St Cuthbert's and Burton Overy. The churches look beautiful as always and we
are very grateful for the dedicated group of ladies who work behind the scenes
to make it happen each year and throughout the year.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Garry
Bedford for his hard work in creating such beautiful paintings for our Stations
of the Cross. If you haven't had a
chance to look please feel free to look after the service today and next
week.
EASTER FLOWERS Thank you to all those who made a
donation towards the cost of the flowers this Easter.
LADIES NIGHT OUT. The next meeting will be on 19th
April at the Oadby Grange Farm Pub at 7.30.
If you
haven't been before please come and join us, we are a very friendly crowd and
the evening is good fun. If you require transport or to book your place
please contact Mo John, on 07818003392(mobile) or 0116 2593504 or by e-mail mojohnal@gmail.com.
GOD
PARENTS DAY A new type of celebration has begun
with the Church of England. They are inviting people to join in celebrating the
role of Godparents for the children that are baptised within our
churches. It is on the 30th April and we will be trying to invite parents
and godparents of those who have been baptised over the last couple of years. So
if you have any questions do ask David Webster or Kim for details. If you know
any godparents please do invite them along.
COLLECTION PLATE You may wonder why members of the
choir do not add a donation to the collection plate during a service. This is
because we subscribe by direct debit through the Planned Giving Scheme. Now is
a good time to think about changing to this way of supporting our church on a
regular basis. It is especially beneficial if you are able to gift aid
donations as in this plan the Gift aid is passed on to the church each month
instead of us having to fill in a claim form after the end of each tax year.
There are packs on the table giving all the information about this scheme
together with an application form. Amy Cook (Gift Aid Secretary)
BIBLE READING NOTES Thanks for
all who have ordered BRF Bible reading notes. I have
now received all copies and will put them out at
the back of our churches after Easter. I have paid the total bill and each person
will then owe me (cash or cheque) the annual subscription of
£13.20 after they have picked up their copy - no hurry and no more
to pay till next April ! Each
quarter look out for next copies in same place. Any problems, please contact
Christine Higgins - 259 2624 or chrisples@btinternet.com. Happy Easter and Happy
Reading. .
VIOLIN CONCERT The proposed recital by Anna Tulchinskaya (violin) and friends will now
be on May 6th rather
than the proposed original date of 22nd April 2017. Watch this space for
further details….
MARKET HARBOROUGH FLOWER CLUB will be presenting a flower
demonstration by Dutch Master Florist and Chelsea Gold Medalist, Hans
Haverkamp. This will take place at Robert Smyth
School, Market Harborough on Wednesday 10th May, Doors open from 6.45 p.m. Cost of
tickets £10 each available from Linda Marshall.

WHY NOT put
an extra can or tin in your shopping basket to bring to church services. St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s
Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless
charity. No biscuits, cereals or any
other packet foods please as the mice are quite partial to these.
Please
pray for:
·
Mollie Alexander, Margaret
Bannister, Lara Beech, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, Mike and Katherine and family, and all who are ill
·
Chris Finn and
Mel Martin who will be married on the 17th April
·
the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza,
and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return

Excellent 10.30am Easter Service this morning at St Cuthbert's Church Great Glen. A good number in the congregation and a few visitors and young families.16042017
