At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

ARCHBISHOP TO VISIT DIOCESE OF LEICESTER:  Can I recommend that you pick up the summer edition of the free “In Shape” magazine.  It gives details of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s intended three day visit to Leicestershire in the Autumn (14th-16th November).   Amy

NEW SERVICES:  As you have probably heard we are starting a new structure to our services beginning in October. The times of the services will be moving to an 8:00am, 9:15am and 10:45am start. I have written a letter to explain the changes so please do make sure you get a copy and ask the churchwardens or myself if you have any questions. We will need some help with the new 9.15am service so if you know anyone who is a musician and would like to help us form a worship band please let us know.  We are also looking for people who would be willing to take Sunday School once a month or, if we get enough volunteers, once every other month. Please see me if you know anyone who would like to help in these areas. Kim

HARVEST FUN DAY - 1st October, at 10:30 am!  We will be having our annual Harvest Festival Service at St Cuthbert’s Church with a twist!  We would like all three churches to come together to celebrate as we launch our new service starting the following week. The idea is to bring a picnic for yourself and whoever you are with and we will provide drinks and puddings. There will be a skittle alley, face painting, small games for children, a clue search throughout the church and churchyard and also a shoebox competition - the idea being to decorate a shoebox and fill it with non-perishable foods for the Welcome Project. There will be a prize for the best family box and the best individual box. There will be no charge and all are welcome to join us for the day.

HELP NEEDED: As you know we run a Toddler Cafe during term time. Due to holiday and a clergy conference I am unable to do the first three session in September on the 6th, 13, and 20th. Linda Harwood is able to be there but I need someone who would be willing to be there with her from 10 am to 11:30 to serve coffee. You don't need to do all three days but if you could do one of them please come and see me. Thank you, Kim

BIBLE STUDY HOUSE GROUP  - Tuesday 15th August 7.30pm - meets at The Springs, Carlton Lane, Burton Overy. An informal evening and you will be most welcome.

ANNUAL RIDE AND STRIDE DAY - Saturday 9th September. All of our churches will be open for visitors.  Do we have anyone who would like to cycle or walk around local churches - how about walking around all the churches in Market Harborough?  The event is organised by the Historic Churches Trust to raise funds to help churches with their repair work.  If you are interested please speak to Anne Bloor 259-2440 or rabloor@gmail.com  Sponsorship forms available in Church.

CREAM TEAS & CAKES AT GAULBY CHURCH  Enjoy a cream tea, cakes and a chat at Gaulby Church, East Leicestershire, every Saturday afternoon 2.30-4.30pm until the end of August.

LIFTS TO SERVICES: If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.

KEEPING PEOPLE IN TOUCH:  Please do take copies of this news-sheet to anyone you know who might be interested, especially to those who can’t get to church at the moment.

Please pray for:
·         Mollie Alexander, Margaret Bannister, Sue Burnham, Christine Higgins, Katherine, Mike and family, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, and all who are ill
·         James Clark and Hannah Baker, Daniel Baggott and Penny Parrish who were married at St Cuthbert’s recently
·         Penelope Isla Richardson (Edge and Kate's granddaughter) who will be baptised on the 6th of August
·         the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return.
