At Communion Services
If you are a communicant member of a Christian Church, you are welcome to come up to receive the bread and wine.  Otherwise you are welcome to either remain in your seat or come up to receive a blessing.  Keeping your hands down by your side will signify to the Vicar that you wish to receive a blessing.   If you have difficulty coming up to the Communion Rail and would like the Vicar to come to you, then please inform a sidesman.

NOTICES

PLEASE NOTE SERVICE TIME CHANGES

A HUGE THANK YOU! to all the flower ladies who have made the church look so lovely over Harvest. We so appreciate the time and the effort that each of you make in order to make our church look so beautiful.

COFFEE TIME  After the 1st October we shall no longer be serving coffee after the 10.45 am service. However coffee will be available after the earlier service and we would hope that the two congregations would meet and enjoy fellowship together at that time. We do need volunteers to offer to serve coffee between 10-10 am and 10-40. Note our three most regular volunteers will be busy doing other things at this time so we need your help and support in this venture to welcome young families and see growth in our church. Please do sign up and make a commitment

ST CUTHBERT’S CHURCH IS OPEN between 10am and 3pm each week day during term time.

LOCKS ON THE VESTRY DOORS have been changed and there are now only a limited number of key holders with keys that cannot be duplicated.

THE ARCHBISHOP will be visiting the Leicester Diocese in November and various events will be taking place.  Two which may be of interest to you are: “
In Jesus Name” on 14th November at 7.30pm at Leicester Arena.  It is free and tickets are available from the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/in-jesus-name-tickets-37269670588
“The Archbishop in Conversation” (15th November).  Tickets for this will be available soon. More information about these and all events can be found on the Diocese website https://www.leicester.anglican.org/

LADIES NIGHT OUT is on Wednesday 18th October at 7.30pm, Oadby Grange Farm Pub.  This is a group of ladies who meet to share a meal together and have fellowship.  New members always welcome, please contact Mo to enquire or put your name down.
Mo John mojohnal@gmail.com Tel. 0116 2593504. We look forward to seeing you in church.   Carole Henson and Mo.

QUIET PRAYER AND  MEDITATION  on 25th October at 3.30pm - 4.30pm  at 20, Kingfisher Close.   It is an opportunity for some special  moments  of  peace in a busy world.   Everyone is welcome  to join us.  We would love to see you,

BIBLE STUDY HOUSE GROUP will meet at The Springs, Carlton Lane, Burton Overy on Tuesday 24th October at 7.30pm.   We are looking at the Book of Revelation.

CHURCH BREAKFAST There will not be a breakfast after the 8am service in November due to the Remembrance Day Service. 8am breakfast will resume on 10th December.

THE CECILIAN SINGERS – One of Leicestershire’s leading mixed voice chamber choirs will be paying their first visit to sing in St Cuthbert’s Church on Friday 8th December at 7.30 pm.  Wine or soft drinks and mince pies will be served during the interval.  Tickets cost £12.50 for adults and £5 for children and are available from Moira.

LIFTS TO SERVICES: If you need a lift to any of our services, please contact Howard Bartlett (259 3747) at Glen or Richard Bloor (259 2440) at Burton Overy and they will arrange one for you.

WHY NOT put an extra can or tin in your shopping basket to bring to church services.  St Cuthbert’s supports Leicester Cathedral’s Welcome Group for destitute asylum seekers and St Andrew’s supports a homeless charity.  No biscuits, cereals or any other packet foods please as the mice are quite partial to these.

Please pray for:
·         Mollie Alexander, Margaret Bannister, Sue Burnham, Christine Higgins, Katherine, Mike and family, Elizabeth Tacey, Martin Tacey, and all who are ill
·         people killed and injured in the Las Vegas shooting massacre and their friends and family
·         the people in Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza, and all other places of conflict in the world, that peace may return.
